Looks to be Farflung's eighth proper CD release. a strong Hawkwind / Nik Turner influence is (still) quite obvious. No complaint there. Tunes here I couldn't get enough of include the seven-minute opener 'Hive' (disc's lengthiest track), the ass-kicking 'Proterozoic', '044MZP' With Nik Turner as guest on flute and sax, 'The 27th Sun', an unexpected cover of the Human League's 'Being Boiled' (you read that right), 'We are 'E'' and the well-received 'The Retreat'. It had just occurred to me, but Farflung has now been around for more than twenty years now. '5' won't disappoint any of their long-time loyal fans.
